Day 10: The UPS Man Brings My HCG

Well it’s here! I went outside this morning and my package from HCG Diet Direct was sitting on my front porch. I’m a little nervous because this means it’s almost time to actually start following all the rules and they’re really, really strict. But I’m thinking positively and telling you right now…I’m going to do it!

I called to see if my HCG buddy, Lisa, got her package today, as well, but she didn’t. And while getting my a day earlier than her makes me feel a little bit special it’s really not going to effect our “bet” because we’re still both going to start on the same day. We’re both going to be following the same oral HCG protocol. And while we’re discussing the oral HCG protocol…sorry about my mental collapse yesterday. I’ve since sworn that I will no longer haunt the HCG forums looking for trouble. I’m going to patiently wait and adhere to the rules as presented in my oral HCG protocol handbook rather than get myself all worried and confused by the jumbled info I was gathering from various blogs and forums yesterday.

But now that I have my package in hand I don’t have to worry about all of that. Inside the box was exactly what I ordered. The homeopathic HCG weight loss formula seems easy to use. Apparently the only oral HCG protocol regarding the drops is that you don’t eat or drink for 15 minutes before or after you take it. You take it three times per day and you hold it under your tongue for 15 seconds each time you take it. I figure that’s pretty easy and straightforward.

I also got the B-Total Sublingual. It’s described on the bottle as a Vitamin Supplement. It also says “Get the B12 Boost” and it calls it Energy Liquid Solutions. It all sounds fabulous. Would you like some liquid energy? Yes! Would you like some vitamins? Yes! Would you like a B12 Boost? Well, yes…boosts are always good. The basic instructions for this product in accordance with the oral HCG protocol is very simple. You shake it well. You take it once a day (one full dropper under your tongue). And you hold it under your tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing.

And as an added bonus (I love added bonuses) it seems that the B-Total can be taken during periods of stress or heightened physical activity as needed. That’s actually included in the description on the bottle. It sounded like a fabulous little vitamin supplement to keep around even when you’re not dieting. I just might order myself a stockpile if it works as good as they say it does!

Now that I’m shared with you the beginnings of my “package is here” frenzy I’m off to dive in to the oral HCG protocol that was included. I can’t wait to get all the rules straight in my head so I can quit worrying about it. Watch for more info tomorrow in Article 11!

Day 9: Waiting for My HCG Diet Kit

So Lisa and I (the friend I have a bet with regarding our progress on the HCG diet) have been reading up online about the HCG diet. And there are a few issues that we’ve decided we’re going to have some trouble with. The different postings sometimes agree on hcg diet protocol and sometimes they totally disagree so we’ve agreed not to stress it until our packages arrive with the hcg diet protocol actually printed in the instruction booklet.

But for history’s sake I thought I’d dedicate my daily article for today to the problems I foresee. I’m definitely going to have a big issue of diet soda isn’t allowed. I figured it might be since it’s zero calorie, but I’ve heard some say that you can’t have it. I’m also going to really dislike it if I’m limited to just one kind of berry (the strawberry is great, but there are so many other yummy options out there to choose from). And I also heard that there is no approved ground meat. That seems difficult to me since there are really lean ground meat options out there. And lastly…what’s this I hear about no substitutions?

I’ll start by bemoaning the potential lack of Diet Soda and Crystal Light. WHAT? Really no diet soda or Crystal Light? That’s what I heard, anyway. Some of the blogs I read back in the day pointed to their “twice daily diet soda” and their constant consumption of Crystal Light as their salvation while they abstained from sugar and ate very limited fruit. And I absolutely saw how that would be me. If I can’t have chocolate cake dripping with delightfully light and tasty glaze….I figured I could at least keep my hands busy wrapped around a Diet Soda! I’m going to stop considering the dreadful prospect now. It hasn’t yet been confirmed.

Next I need to bemoan the removal of berries from the hcg diet protocol. I thought they were included, but we’ve found several comments from dieters online that suggest the only berry allowed is the strawberry. Could that be correct? There are so many wonderful berries out there to choose from and we’re to stick strictly to the strawberry? I’m very disappointed in this possibility. (I’m still kind of hoping that it’s not quite true…just give me my pipe dreams. They’ll be blown out of the water soon enough).

I also heard tell of ground meat being a definite “no-no.” That makes sense so I’m pretty sure it’s right. I’m just going to have a hard time breaking the news to my little brother the next time he hosts one of his regular grilling nights for the entire family. He’s a hunter and he’s so proud of the fact that the ground meat he uses for his burgers actually comes from his own endeavors. He’s got a freezer full of the stuff and it’s really, really good. I guess I’ll have to bring my own tiny steak or something. And he’ll just have to forgive me!

The substitution thing just might kill me; I mean the rumor that there ARE no substitutions. I thought I’d be able to save a serving of fruit to eat late at night when I’m still up and I’m starving. But if not…maybe I’ll just have to learn to go to bed at a decent hour. It will be rough, but I think I can do it.

So now that you are all feeling as if I’m a very sad and mopey character that has spent a good amount of your time whining I’m going to let you go. I’m letting you go until tomorrow, that is. Because regardless of whether you’ll admit it or not I know you’re intrigued by the diet. You want to see how it goes and you want to see if I’ll be able to do it. Well, I’m being honest with you…I do, too!
